体长而侧扁。口裂较大，超过眼径长1/3。下颌突出于上颌，并与上颌的缺刻相嵌合。头长小于体高。背鳍起点位于腹鳍起点之后，臀鳍基较长。侧线完全。鳞较大。尾鳍叉型。
生物学
This asp fish is found in Xinjiang and usually inhabits running waters. After reaching 200-300 mm, it preys on fish. The young fishes are gregarious. It spawns from April to May. The weight is over 8000 g.
